EE Type 3B (Early)
English Electric built hundreds of small electric locomotives for industrial service shunting from 1920 to 1951. Many were the Type 3B, which were mostly built at the Dick Kerr works in Preston. While the basic configuration and bodyshell was the same, the traction equipment and power collection setup depended on the customer’s requirements and could vary greatly. Power collection could be via pantograph, tram pole, third rail or battery.
This kit features the early version of the battery locomotives – suitable for a large range of small and medium sized industrial settings.
This model is based on the early type model and fits onto a Tenshodo/Hanazono 28.7mm wheelbase motor bogie with 10.5mm disc wheels. Instructions can be seen here
