100HP Streamlined Sentinel
During the 1920s and 1930s the Sentinel Waggon Works produced a number of small vertical boilered, geared steam locomotives for industrial use. Available in gauges from 3’ to 5’ 6” the locomotives were designed to raise steam quickly, be easy to operate and maintain and work over less than desirable track and curves where other engines – including diesels- may struggle.
During the 1940s Sentinels jumped on the streamlining bandwagon and produced six “air-smoothed” locomotives featuring a stylish new design of engine casing.
